Boom - di - Ada!

The Boom- Di - Ada purse/card caddy! Random stamped with Goldrush and Hollyhock florals from With Love (CTMH June stamp of the month)

anything is possible.... the power is already within you.

Do I LOVE that squiggly floral stitching???? ---CHYA!

images are copyright Close to My Heart .... With Love, June Stamp of the Month.
Isn't it delectable?!

We made the 2 bottom cards at Barb F.'s party today for her daughter Kelley who was celebrating a birthday!
I couldnt be happier with this colour combo... buttercup, garden green, goldrush, hollyhock, cocoa. I could play with this June set endlessly... so many stems, swirls, leaves, flowers.

The boom-di-ada paper features florals and "ric-rac" stripes. For those of you who can remember that ric-rac ribbon Mom used on your hand-made outfits in the 60's, this paper pack will give you a sense of happy nostalgia.

The easiest purse I ever made

This has to be the easiest gift bag/purse that I ever made.
It is a simple box shape.
The purse uses a full 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of CS.
The folds at the side are 1 1/4 inches in with a small notch cut on the fold lines, and the bottom is 2 inches wide , so you score 4 1/2 inches in from top and bottom. The center paper is 3 x 4 1/2 .
That's it!

I will be using it to hold Serenity cards.
Some pretty embellies went onto it.
I used a metallic gold cardstock AND a special rhinestone floral brad that I had been "hoarding" in my supplies. Julia H. gave me the large white flowers a while back.
Time to use everything good!!

Serenity

Here are some Serenity Prayer Cards. I tried to keep them simple and clean
in design. They could be used as sympathy cards.
They were made with papers from Close to My Heart in olive and plum,
along with a butterfly acrylic stamp... kind of a last minute thought but
it works well with the soft botanicals.

I inked and stippled the prayer and overstamped it with a bouquet in olive
from Victorian Garden.
I have a special purpose for these cards. They will be a gift for Rick's Mom.
I give her cards a few times a year because she goes through hundreds.
She has been running a home for alcoholic men in London for years
called St. Stephens and has helped many people recover over the years
through the Twelve Steps.

I do believe in the healing power of letting go of what has happened in the past, and in opening my heart to new experiences in a complete way. I have learned that carrying baggage isnt healthy for me or my kids.

Stamp Kissing by Tresa Black

Well I just had to share this Kissing Tutorial on YouTube by Tresa Black (aka the Stamp Godess)... because it features naked kissing and dirty kissing! with acrylic stamps, that is!!
I will be trying to copy this card. I particularly like the blue flowers with chocolate kissing.
I dont have the stamp sets Tresa used, so I will improvise.

Bantam hockey layouts for 2008

picture for Bantam AAA Jr Sting 2008 ... click on any picture to enlarge!!
Tyler Annett and Colton James

Colton in the news... Golden Glove

Silverstick Port Huron

Winners of the AAA Bantam Consolation Final

I enjoyed putting these 5 pages together last week with Jen Ryan my scrappin' buddy from the Grove... you rock , Girl.

Simple sunflower yellow mats , stick on letters, and black backgrounds unify the pages. I am journalling with a white pen and using black base pages from Close to My Heart. The Golden Blade and Silver Stick tournaments are featured along with our Consolation Championship.

I try to write about one friend on the team each year. This year I chose Tyler. Tyler Annett is an amazing athlete. He was voted the grade nine student "most likely to be in the Olympics" in the 2008 Northern yearbook . He broke 15 year old track records in grade 8 because he runs like a greyhound and has been to the provincials in soccer many times. He played football with Colton this year. His parents are competitive body builders.

I will have to write about Curtis Crombeen next year when the OHL draft is on.

As an aside, Colton was also featured in the yearbook, as the "biggest flirt". Nice work, son.

My daughter Chloe made the fashion and style page. No surprise.

Determination HOCKEY layout...

More stuff for those of you who have guys in your life.

My son Colton has played goalie since age 7 and has played for the Jr Sting AAA since age 8.

He has made so many friendships through travel hockey and it has enriched our lives.

The first pic is of when he was learning to skate at Hockey Basics at age six, falling down like a frog and pushing down in front of himself to get back up again.

Determination. You either have it, or you don't . It can't be taught. He showed it at an early age.

This is the title page to his album , which covers so far 7 years of team sports.

Just black base pages with a few simple embellishments. I dont do fancy in my guy's book.

MASCULINE greeting cards

Using cocoa , twilight and pine green, I came up with 8 great cards. Here is a sample.

Have stamped 3 blank ones and used them for Father's Day already!

Although these are intended for the guys, I gave a set of these cards to my arty friend Terri for her birthday - and she thought the deep colours were great.

Masculine cards

Men are wonderful ... they just deserve the best !

I made a batch of birthday cards using twilight and chocolate cardstock as the main colours, along with Good Times papers from Close to my Heart that feature Happy Birthday Wishes.

Just added a stamped star from Star Struck Acrylix and it looks great!
