Happy Birdy

The Language of Love stamp set helped me create this card... for my auntie's 70th birthday.

the inside says :

Happy Birdy .. which i thought was cute !
I used the cuttlebug I got for Christmas to create the background .

Pretty Swirls

Cold weather and the end of hockey playoffs means time to take stock and make some new cards using some saved ctmh papers and other hoarded supplies. I am getting over the idea of saving stuff cus it is "too good to use" ! I was playing with a design by Jeannette Lynton and came up with the idea of using the cuttlebug to emboss the 1 1/2 inch squares that hold this design together. I got the idea for the heart placements and buttons from her card as well. The clear buttons can be backed with pattern paper for a cool dimensional effect. As always, this card looks way better "in person".

MI AMOR

This first exquisite card is from Jeannette Lynton's blog. http://www.jeanettelynton.com/
there are other luscious cards
she has created on the link.

Yes readers, I played with my new language of love stamp set tonight !

I copied Janette's card but
I changed the colours to teal and tones of blush softened with chocolate and vineberry. The card measures 6x6. I guessed at the measurement for the large rectangle as 5 x 4 1/2 and the smaller one at 2 1/2 x 4 but dont quote me on it. The nicest thing about making romantic cards is all the little bling and ribbon you can add. The birdie is just magnifique . I added liquid glass and gel pen to brighten his plumes in a delicate way. I will admit there is a fair bit of scissor cutting involved in this card... the bird was not particularly difficult but I have patience . I actually enjoy cutting good paper with sharp scissors. Call me weird, it must be a tactile- sensory thing. I added the scalloped border using an acrylix stamp and cutting out around the scallops.
